The success of Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary is only made possible because of the hard work and dedication of the volunteers who work within the charity.
In charge of the overall running of the Charity, funding, the administration, paying the many bills, organising the on-site volunteers and the day-to-day running of the Hospital is Alexandra Farmer (charity founder)
Our Senior Volunteers throughout each week are Sorrel Lake, Catherine Law, Anne Johnston, Anita Gardiner, Jennifer Law, Jayne King and Beth Turner. Alongside Alexandra Farmer, they are responsible for the assessment of casualties coming in, their ongoing treatment, coordinating the release of successfully rehabilitated wildlife, volunteer training and general maintenance of the hospital and site.
Our chosen Veterinary Surgeons are The Beck Veterinary Practice.
We also have a team of over 50 volunteers. Although we rely on the help of volunteers every day, we need more fully trained, experienced volunteers to be able to give the professional care necessary to rehabilitate nearly 4000 casualties every year.
The manager of our charity shop in Whitby is Pam Henderson with assistant manager Maureen Murray.
The trustees of the charity are (alphabetically): Catherine Law, David Farmer, Jayne King, Jennifer Law, Laurie Farmer and Sam Taylor
